Coach Gunderson grew up in the Tacoma/Parkland area and played mainly football and baseball growing up. Garrett played select baseball starting at the age of 12 throughout high school. Garrett attended Franklin Pierce High School and graduated in 2008, he played football, baseball, and ran track. Garrett was a captain of the football team that finished 3rd in state, a starting outfielder for the baseball team that finished in the top 8 in state and was a finalist in the 100M dash in track. After High School Garrett received a scholarship to play football at Central Washington University but instead chose to walk onto the baseball team at Washington State University. After college Garrett was hired by the Kent Police Department where is his currently a Detective.
